General Assembly 2016

The YKWA Board would like to inform you about the last general assembly which took place 3rd December 2016 at 3 pm at the office of Pathways Public Health, Neustädtische Kirchstraße 6, 10117 Berlin.

The assembly elected a new Board of Young Königswinter Alumni e.V. which is as follows:

  • Holger Friedrich, Chairman
  • Annegret Kummert, Deputy Chairwoman
  • Hannes Baechle, Treasurer
  • Hendrik Hagemann, Secretary
  • John Suares, Assessor
  • Robert Delille, Assessor

Members of the Board are elected for a period of two years.

The assembly agreed to foster ties with the Deutsch Britische Gesellschaft (DBG)/ German British Society by inviting Lucie Kretschmer to board meetings who has been appointed to Managing Director of the German British Society. With this alliance YKWA wins a strong supporter as Lucie is accompanying YKWA for a long time and already flagged to him a strong intention for further and deeper collaboration.

The Assembly also agreed on deepening collaboration with both organizations DGB and United Europe in order to work closely on better German-British relations according to last summer’s successful event on Brexit.

EVENTS DEBRIDGE

Europa nach dem BREXIT – Was hält uns zusammen?

Podiumsdiskussion im Rahmen der Berliner Stiftungswoche 2017

Donnerstag, 20.

Kate Connolly Berlin-Korrespondentin, The Guardian

John Suares: A Report from Königswinter 2017

Dienstag, 2. Mai 2017, Centre Monbijou, Oranienburger Straße 13/14, 10178 Berlin

A month after the 2017 Königswinter Conference we hear from the rapporteur. What did this year’s participants think the future of the EU was after Brexit and the US elections? Could our respective economies and societies be rebalanced to meet the challenges to established politics? And how could our security priorities be met amid growing anxiety?
