Latest YKWA Contemporary Issues
Dear Alumni!
We are pleased to announce a new session of “YKWA Contemporary Issues”. After the general election a strengthened Chancellor Merkel could start reforming the EU institutions and competences. Her political course has been approved by voters. The question remains whether Merkel sides with British Prime Minister Cameron. Open Europe Berlin recently found out that the majority of Germans see the need for the German government to take a strong stand for the UK’s stay in the EU. Will Merkel make concessions to Cameron or will she lead him to accept the reform ideas of the new German government?
We want to discuss these questions under the headline “The new German-British tandem as motor for an EU institutional reform?” with Nora Hesse, Deputy Director of the think tank Open Europe Berlin.
